A Family Affair is a 2026 jazz album by the Huebner Brothers, featuring violinist Gregor Huebner and bassist Veit Hübner. It showcases the duo exploring the boundaries of jazz, tango, and neo-classical music.
A unique sound that is equal parts jazz and minimalism.
The performances are terrific, unsurprisingly, the intimate recording making the quartet sound as if they are playing just for you, in your front room. Recommended.
It is rare to encounter a single string player who is highly trained in jazz and classical performance, improvisation and composition, let alone a quartet. Consequently, when they work in tandem on a project like Incantations the result is quite special.
