Gregor Huebner Awarded 2026 New Jazz Works Composition Grant

Gregor Huebner is a recipient of a 2026 New Jazz Works composition grant. Huebner’s NY-NRG Quartet received the Chamber Music America (CMA) award to support the creation, performance, and optional recording of a new jazz composition.

New Jazz Works, CMA’s flagship composition grant in jazz, began in 2000 and has since funded the composition of more than 300 works. CMA continues its 26-year partnership with the Doris Duke Foundation in funding this significant award to jazz artists and ensembles.

Chamber Music America (CMA), the national network of ensemble music professionals, announced recipients of New Jazz Works and the Thea Musgrave Performance Fund, two cornerstone grant programs that advance artistic innovation across styles. Supported by the Doris Duke Foundationand a landmark gift from the composer Thea Musgrave respectively, the programs will award more than $504,600 to 17 ensembles in five states.

While one advances the future of jazz, the other champions performances of contemporary chamber music, both ensuring that innovative voices continue to be heard. These distinct programs honor tradition while encouraging innovation, celebrating the creativity of music across genre and style.”

Through both programs, CMA is distributing more than $504,600 to 17 ensembles comprising 105 musicians—contributing to a total of more than $1.3 million in grants across seven funding initiatives this year. In total, CMA’s 2026 impact bolsters the work of 425 artists and 29 presenting organizations in 15 states.
