Gregor Huebner’s NY-NRG Quartet is the ensemble he performs with mainly in his first home New York. He studied together with Luis Perdomo and Hans Glawischnig at Manhattan School of Music and together with Billy Hart he shares the stage in Richie Beirach’s Quartet. For this band he composed special music which combines the styles of post-bop and latin Jazz as well as the improvisational streams of the 1970’s. The constellation speaks for itself; Luis Perdomo, at the moment pianist in the bands of Ravi Coltrane and Migel Zenon, Hans Glawischnig also in the Zenon’s band and in the last years Chick Corea bassist and off course Billy Hart, drummer in bands of the jazz greats like Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Stan Getz and Little Richard. The main goal: To get the stepchild jazz violin out of the corner of prejudices.
