Happy New Year! I hope you had a great start to 2020. I’m very excited about all the projects, recordings and performances slated for this year.
Berta Epple is touring this spring with Berta Epple die Rente ist sicher. It was an honor to win the state prize Kleinkunstpreis Baden Württemberg, and it is great to perform for enthusiastic audiences.
2020 is the 10th year of the current lineup of Sirius Quartet. To celebrate this milestone, Sirius is organizing a series of performances in New York City, presenting their past repertoire in chronological order. The first performance is at Club Bonafide on March 13, 2020.
2020 is the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven. Together with Uri Cain, I created a video and took part in the Beethoven Pastorale Project. Artists from all around the world were invited to make a cultural statement for environmental protection. I am also commissioned to write a new piece for Sirius Quartet and Richie Beirach based on Beethovens music. It will premiere at the Jazz Festival in Bonn in May.
2020 upcoming highlights:
Sirius Quartet at Carnegie Hall and Wigmore Hall in London
Some exciting concerts in Russia in June
El Violin Latino at the Parrish Museum in Long Island
MCC (Munich Composers Collective) Residency at Milla Club in Munich, we will perform several concerts throughout the year.
It would be really great to see you at one of these performances!

Liedertheater zum Mitsingen und Mitmachen supported by Berta Epple
The year 2020 marks the 10th year of the current lineup of Sirius Quartet, which founding member Ron Lawrence named “Our best lineup so far”. The four musicians brought in individual styles of playing, writing and improvisation into the group and created their very own brand of inimitable music —- an extension of progressive chamber music started by the likes of the great Turtle Island Quartet and Kronos Quartet. To celebrate this milestone, Sirius is organizing a series of performances in New York City, presenting their past repertoire in chronological order. This performance in Club Bonafide will be the first performance of this series, repertoire will include Gregor Huebner’s String Quartet No.3 (“New York Suite”), among other signature Sirius Quartet pieces.

Successful Progressive Chamber Music Festivals in New York City and Munich, Germany
A fantastic teaching season in Munich
Since Berta Epple was awarded the state prize Kleinkunstpreis Baden Württemberg, we have a nice run coming up in the spring of 2020 with our program Berta Epple die Rente ist sicher. It would be great to see you there.
In other exciting news, LaJuana reopened The Spaaaht in New York City. It was a long wait, but she’s thrilled to be back and business is thriving. Her Spa Services make great gifts for the holidays!
I want to wish you all a wonderful time during the holidays and an absolutely fabulous New Year.
The festival features a diverse array of absolutely killer artists who blur genre-lines and embrace cross-pollination as an absolute essential ingredient in the creation of forward-thinking music and art.
Sirius Quartet performs on the 1st night with Gerd Baumann’s band Parade and on the 2nd night with the fantastic harpist Evelyn Huber. Then we will continue to tour with her throughout November.
Also, on the first day of the festival, the PentAnemos Bläserquintett is premiering my piece “Independence in Unity.”
It would be great to see you at one of our concerts.
Regards,
Gregor
