Welcome to the fall and I hope you all had a great summer.
I spent the last 5 weeks in Düsseldorf, Germany at the German Opera preparing for the premiere of Die Geschichte vom blinden Vertrauen (The Story of Blind Trust), based on the Pipe Piper. It’s a dance theatre, children’s opera for kids, aged 6 and over. I wrote the music for the opera which premieres on September 10, 2022.
Back in New York, I am extremely happy that Sirius Quartet will perform at Carnegie Hall on September 30th. We are playing new works including the premiere of our own music such as my composition Aleppo, City of Chaos. This concert has been postponed twice due to Corona. We are thrilled it is finally happening.
This made my day; a glowing review of my solo piano album in Piano News Magazine. Here is a quote from it:
Here is someone at work who wouldn’t dream of conforming to common clichés about the way jazz should be perceived these days. The fact that as a listener you stay with it with curiosity is a testimony to the spiritual power that emanates from this music. In fact, everything Gregor Huebner plays is quite unpretentious, one could also say just the way it should be.
Join me for a live performance, watch a video, put the needle on a record or stream my music.
Either way, enjoy your fall,
Gregor
