After a very busy fall with teaching in Munich, performing with Sirius Quartet, Richie Beirach and finally ending the year with the tradition of playing Berta Epple’s Christmas show, I am so happy to be home to celebrate the holidays with my family. We wish you all a beautiful and quiet time during the holidays and a great start into the New Year.
Sirius Quartet has a bunch of shows lined up in 2018. Our first show is in New York City at the Chamber Music American Showcase on Saturday, January 6.
I’m really looking forward to completing El Violin Latino’s new album – the Cuban Volume in the new year too!
Here’s to a marvelous 2018,
Gregor

Pianist Uri Caine and violinist Gregor Huebner discuss their recent recording of an improvisation of Beethoven’s ‘Pastoral’ Symphony for the The Beethoven Pastoral Project.
The BEETHOVEN PASTORAL PROJECT invites artists around the world to establish a network and join forces, to make their own interpretations of Ludwig van Beethoven’s ‘Pastoral’ Symphony, and through their creativity shape a powerful statement about environmental protection and sustainable development – for a better world for all of us!
Ensembles and individual artist from around the world are invited to perform Beethoven’s ‘Pastoral’ Symphony on June 5th, 2020, the United Nations World Environment Day. Before this, they are asked to share their artistic engagement with this work on the project website, linking this to the objectives of the Paris Climate Change Agreement with a statement about the protection of the environment.
The Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68, also known as the Pastoral Symphony is a symphony composed by Ludwig van Beethoven in 1808.

Uri Caine and I just recorded an improvisation of Beethoven’s ‘Pastoral’ Symphony for the The Beethoven Pastoral Project. We are looking forward to being a part of the celebrations of Beethoven’s anniversary in the 2019/20 concert season in Bonn.
Last week, Richie Beirach and I played a concert at the Beethoven Haus, the birthplace of Beethoven, during the Climate Change Conference.
The vibe of the 25,000 people in the city of Bonn who came for that conference was incredible. I hope they can change as many things as possible to save our planet. With our music we are trying to be part of this great movement.
Sirius Quartet just wrapped up a 3-week tour in Europe. We played some amazing concerts, plus participated in 3 music/improv workshops. It was a very fun and productive time. Check out some great #tourlife photos and more on our facebook page.
El Violin Latino had a successful recording session in October in NYC. Musicians from around the world joined us including John Benitez on bass and the singer Yumarya from Curaçao. We have one more recording session planned. Then we will mix the album and soon you will receive it.
I’m currently in Munich teaching composition at the University. Plus gearing up for many concerts during the holiday season. Join me!
Regards,
Gregor

El Violin Latino – Recording Update
We had an amazing time at Spin Recording Studios where we recorded the tracks for El Violin Latino Vol. 3 – The Cuban Volume. The singer Yumarya flew in from Curaçao for the session and she sang like an angel.
I still need to record one additional song with harpist Edmar Castaneda. Then we will mix the recording in January 2018 and release the album in May 2018.
Los Soñadores-Dreamers song & video will be released in advance of the full album. Stay tuned to hear this dramatic, timely song.
