Dear Friends,

Happy New Year!!! I am very excited about all that is in store for the new year.
But first, a quick rewind. 2022 ended with the release of my piano book, 14 Piano Preludes op. 80, which makes me extremely happy. Each prelude is written for solo piano and all the themes are playable by any intermediately skilled pianist and can be improvised.

On the last day of 2022 I was featured on German TV’s SWR in an in-depth documentary about my music career. The program includes my family’s musical history, live performances, an interview with my daughter, and details about my career as a musician and professor. Here is a great review from the end of the year. Testaments, the 3 CD box set by Gregor Hübner / Richie Beirach / Veit Hübner, received a rave review from London Jazz News.

14 Piano Preludes op. 80

The new book of piano music from Gregor Heubner

These 14 beautiful preludes written for piano are playable by an intermediately skilled pianist and can be improvised over with the provided chord changes. Players can add intros and outros as they like and are free to include their own ideas.

Originating from the title, “Stories from the New York Lockdown”, Gregor started this project in 2020 not knowing that it would become an entire collection of compositions for solo piano, recorded and released on one of his favorite labels in Munich, Solo Musica. more
 

Sirius Quartet Welcomes Violist Sunjay Jayaram

After 30 years, violist Ron Lawrence – the founding member of Sirius Quartet – is stepping away from the quartet to pursue other projects. He thanks all of the previous quartet members and collaborators over the years for their joyful music-making and is pleased to leave the quartet in such capable hands.

Sirius Quartet is pleased to announce Sunjay Jayaram as their new violist. Sunjay is a violist, violinist and oud player who enjoys playing and improvising in a wide variety of styles and genres including jazz, Carnatic music and hip hop in addition to traditional and contemporary classical music. more
